Tools:The Language of Data program provides tools and ongoing mentoring for nurses and other healthcare providers to recognize, understand and use statistics in reported research results (the language of data). The tools for research and improvement science teams are designed to accommodate the needs of learners in real-world clinical practice settings through multi-modality programmatic delivery (in-person, on-line and independent study). In this tab you will find forms, templates, frequently used articles and other tools to make your research process a success. Visit our “Training” page for skill-based training modules for the Language of Data on-line gaming program.
Different from a traditional, didactic approach to statistics that describes the characteristics of data elements and the equations required to compute the ‘‘odds’’ or probabilities of an outcome, the Language of Data toolkit uses a web-based platform that incorporates gaming and offers opportunities for “hands-on” learning in the clinical setting.
Recipes are one creative way to think about research design… the ingredients in a recipe are analogous to the “ingredients” or measures and metrics in a research, EBP or QI study! Likewise, the Directions or Instructions in a cooking recipe are similar to the Methods and Procedures in a study. On this page, we explore recipes that will help motivate your team by bringing good food and fun into the clinical research process!
Welcome to the Forms and Templates page! On this page we offer a number of well-tested tools and forms that support teams in the clinical inquiry process. Download anything you find here that may be helpful for your study teams.
Welcome to the Dissemination Page! Dissemination refers to the development of abstracts, presentations or publications that “get the word out” about your project. On this page you will find tools and templates for both internal (inside your own clinical setting) and external (local, regional and national or international opportunities to disseminate your work) dissemination. In addition, we suggest important timelines for planning your project dissemination, and ways to practice with your team.
Welcome to the article repository page! Here we offer links to important or helpful articles that you may use for mentoring and coaching your team. In addition, these articles can be downloaded and shared with others as one way to improve awareness and buy-in for your project.
